I know exactly how you feel about being home and being closer to nature. And it is great having international, intelligent, well-spoken, and bi-lingual friends like you, who share a love for all things Deborah Harry and Blondie. Have a great week.

I lived briefly in Baumholder, Bad Kreuznack, Weisbaden (where I first heard Heart of Glass, btw, lol), and finally, for two years, in Heidelberg. Beautiful country, Germany, with very nice people. It was cloudy and rained a lot there but at least it was neither too cold in the winter nor warm in the summer. Made a few life-long friends who are living now in Frankfurt and Weisbaden. We keep in touch. Unfortunately, did not get specifically to Hamburg, although I did get to see Bremerhaven, which is not too far away. Hamburg is up there in the north, I stayed pretty much in the south. As you can probably guess, I was in the US military then, right out of my college years, and was pretty young, but made every effort to travel and see Europe. The things that impressed me most about Germany beside the natural beauty and great people were the excellent roads, cleanliness of the streets and sidewalks and houses, the nice cars, the sense of history pervading all things, well-dressed people, the beer, and the trains. lol. Are you an American living there, because your English from what I'v seen is excellent.
Have a great week
