For a rock show that opened and encored with chart-topping disco hits, the second of which eventually evolved into the Michael Jackson classic "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough," there was something surprisingly vital, even cutting-edge to Blondie's Tuesday night performance at the Dodge Theatre. There is a certain element of relevance by proxy, thanks to younger artists like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs still drinking deeply of the CBGB veterans' most inspired work. But this was no touring museum exhibit staged by aging hipsters. This was very much a case of Blondie living in the moment, investing the oldies with real urgency and a palpable sense of adventure. - read more at
