I have been trying to get a hold of you for about a decade now...and let me tell you; you are the hardest woman to contact in the world. I'm turning twenty and you met me when I was ten...at the concert in Seattle. (see blog) I just wanted you to know that although I've talked to Chris, and Barbara, and Barry Kramer instead; I've never given up! I just want to hug you and have a conversation with you to let you know that for ten years, since I was a little girl; you have been the end all for me. You have been my hero for years. I have always called you "My Marilyn"...because what she was to you, you are to me!
I freaking feel like you're an aunt of mine or something because it's been so long and you've been there the whole way...birthday parties, school, graduations, weddings, losing my papa... and now college. I love you so much Deb and I want you to know that you've made a very positive impact on a young girl's life. You made a ten year old's dreams come true at your show just by acknowledging me...girl you have power! haha but seriously, in all actuality, you are the shit. I'm totally not in love with you, stalking you, nor is this anything sexual AT ALL. Like I said, I feel like you are my aunt or god mother or something...some distant relative that is still kicking around NYC in her black pumps and shiny red lips :] Your solo stuff is amazing. I balled when I watched "If I had you" and so did my cousin and best friend who is my age; because she loves you just as much as I do! You've been with us our ENTIRE childhood. We love you. We love the old stuff, the new stuff, the stuff you don't sing anymore :) your solo stuff, all Chris' quirky stuff he plays on his myspace page...(I wrote you by the way!)
You are amazing Debbie and you will always have...I don't like to call myself a fan because it's so common and used all the time. I like to think of myself as a friend, or neice or maybe just a really, really, close fan that will always admire you and your band (all of them :) but more than anything Debbie, I just want to know that YOU personally know who I am; regardless if you remember me or not!
