Oracle of WiFi

Dear all,
It might have been already discussed in different Fora ( I've seen it recently on www.tikilab.com DHBIS Forum ) and just seems possible, to get organized for a Blondie download day or even week. Wouldn't make us proud to consciously start the possibility of another chart-hit, in the digital era? "One Way Or Another" for example, hasn't ever been officially released as a single in the UK, so if it would chart, it would be considered a 'new' hit, in addition to the rest... Whadayathink?

hi Iannis! for me it's ok but maybe it's better to choose a song from the last album causeit would be easy to compares to 2008 music's sound.

I guess any song will do! Probably, this should be arranged and / or decided by the record company that will back-up and actually release the song digitally. Her current independent label would support a "Necessary Evil" track if not a new - unreleased one, but for Blondie catalogue tracks, Capitol / EMI who represent Chrysalis or Sony / BMG should be involved. I suggested "One Way Or Another" as it definitely passed the test of time with flying colours and it seems as everybody knows and loves this song even if they don't know more details about it ( who sings it, what's the name of the song or the group ).

Hey Iannis...it's good idea, but you now me..I kinda like the physical singles..digital doesn't do it for me...If i had You should have been a physical single...maybe it would have done something....if people coould actually go out and buy it...I don't really classify the digitals as downloads as singles....anyway, how ya doing? we need to met up again soon, maybe make it over this year.....

I couldn't agree more Marc, the actual singles -what nowadays is called physical format- is what I'm really interested in.... I don't feel like I "have" a song, or an album if it's only on my computer. It has to be in my hands, too! Maybe near future average kids won't even get to see one, as we're in the digital era and downloads count for hit singles. Based on the impression I have, that we all want Debbie -sola or as Blondie- to have more hits, the new ways of distributing a single have to be seriously taken into consideration.

There's still time until the end of the Zeros, for releasing "One Way Or Another" as a single in the UK, on all formats -physical and digital- and get Blondie their 7th UK #1. That would make them the only act to have been on the top spot of the UK singles charts, in four consecutive decades 70s-80s-90s-00s! Currently Blondie along with Madonna and Kylie Minogue are the only acts who have achieved it, in three consecutive decades and Blondie is the only group. EMI, go for it! Releasing the "Singles Collection 1977-1982" and "One Way Or Another" as a single, would match the occasion!
