BLONDIE'S NEW SINGLE WE THREE KINGS, WHEN IS THE RELEASE DATE ANYONE? I HOPE ITS BEFORE ALL THE X FACTOR SINGLE RELEASES AS THEY WILL GET SWALLOWED UP. BLONDIE NEED TO GET ON THE X FACTOR END OF NOVEMBER/BEGINNING OF DECEMBER AFTER ALL ITS THE BIGGEST SHOW FOR PROMOTING NEW SINGLES ALL ARTIST WHO APPEAR GO TOP 5 POSITION WITHIN A COUPLE OF DAYS. BLONDIE REALLY NEED TO MOVE SOON IF THEY WOULD LIKE A NUMBER 1 IN THE UK BEFORE THE X FACTOR SINGLES COME OUT. DEBBIE COULD ALSO BE REPLACED AS THE OLDEST WOMAN TO HAVE A NUMBER 1 BY NONE OTHER THAN VERA LYNN WHO'S ALBUM WENT TO NUMBER 1 NOW VERA HAS HER SINGLE COMING OUT FOR XMAS. GET A MOVE ON BLONDIE PLEASE SAVE OUR CHARTS... AND A MERRY XMAS ALL!!!!

Whoa whoa whoa! Did something get lost in translation here or did I miss an update somewhere LOL? Y'all are so excited about a new single and I dont wanna put a damper on things but let's read again what Chris said:
"... we ARE working on a xmas song for fun " Straight from his tweet. For FUN! Recording "We 3 Kings" (yep, Chris did later fess up to that on twitter) was for FUN and something cool they did for the fans. Where did they announce the news of a new single? No plan to release this as a single as far I know but I hope someone will put up a link to prove me wrong. I caught up with some of the boys recently and they said the same thing as Chris. I hope I'm wrong, tho. A single before the end of year would be great but I dont see it happening. They also said that the only thing they are doing before year end is a benefit show this month. Nothing 'til next year. Sorry.

Well, this isn't all Greek to me - that's what Chris wrote on his site www.rednight.net and that's what I reported as great news on my blog post here in the Oracle. Furthermore, I expressed my expectations of what the song might be and assumed that it might be "We Three Kings", but that's my guess and surely doesn't come from any official source! What's more, my imagination is taking off and dreaming Blondie going straight to #1 in the UK, extending their 3-consecutive-decades-with-No.1s record with 4, while getting Debbie's own record as the oldest female at #1 higher than it has been, since Feb 1999. But most of all, what's fantastic is the new Blondie song that we're gonna get, one way or another! What a treat for Xmas!!! Needless to say, I can't wait...

So I went to rednight.net and all I see that Chris wrote is:

I dont see the mention that a single is set for release in the UK. I havent found that announcement on rednight on any of Blondie's official sites so if anyone can put up a link, much appreciated! What Chris said was that the song he speaks of was PLAYED in the UK. By PLAYED he meant peformed live. This of course is "We 3 Kings" and Chris confirmed that on twitter. He also said on twitter this was a FUN thing. From my searching I dont come up with anything that says "We 3 Kings" is set to have an official release in the UK (as I.T. suggest in the Blog) or anywhere else. Maybe its just ME but I got a totally different message from the I.T. Blog post than from the Chris posts. I even asked one of the guys yesterday about this and "single to be released in the UK" was news to him but that wasnt Chris so who knows. The guy was kinda embarrassed that fans twist things like that but I let him know that its all good that everyone is so psyched up about Blondie and the new stuff. I did get the scoop on what they did but it's supposed to be a surprise so I'm zipping it! Blissful Blondie Holidays to all!

@I.T.: Dude, one more thing, just want to let you know I meant no offense by the imagination run wild comment. I read Chris say they're gonna put a song out there (which doesnt have to mean official "release") and that it's something they played in the UK and then I turn around and read your announcement that Blondie is releasing W3K in the UK so matter of factly and I thought that was a bit of an alteration or stretch of what Chris said. That was just ME and as I saw it. Please accept my apologies if I offended. I even saw fans on other sites waiting by the radio waiting to hear this "release" and checking the tv listings to see when they will be on Xfactor! The interest and excitement is way cool but what the band has planned is low-budget but still fun and cool. Cant wait!

@FOB: No need to apologize for the way you saw my blog post and I appreciate different views. I feel like explaining a bit further the situation, since you mentioned about a band member feeling embarrassed. Having seen the news on Chris' site and as it was becoming a big issue in other Blondie-related Fora, I thought I'd post about the song in the Oracle. Before exposing anybody into my wishful thinking, I put a link to the page with Chris' statement, so anybody wouldn't be lost in my translation! I never mentioned anywhere that I'm doing an official announcement, or characterized the release as official. I now see that mentioning just the UK release is misleading, therefore I edited that, even though if something is put out, it eventually going to be available in the UK too, while -as a European- the availability in the UK automatically means availability in the rest of the continent. What's more, the UK is where Blondie have -since Feb 1999- the infamous record of #1s in three consecutive decades, so by focussing in the UK, that has always been a target-market for the group, we get to the second part of my post which had to do with my expectations and was indeed my imagination, therefore as such (theoracleofathens) was presented. For me, the possibility of anything new from my favourite group, makes great news! I'm glad we're talking about a new song reaching us anyhow, soon! It's been a while since "More Than This" in 2006 or "Undone" in 2004, so the excitement really is great for "We Three Kings".
Since the early eighties, I've always wanted Blondie to have great success and world-wide appeal, so I'm always expecting them to hit the top, which I hope it's not an embarrassing thing for any band member. I'm totally in peace with the fact that it might not happen and I don't mean to draw more attention around the wish of another hit, I'm really enthusiastic about the fact that the group is actually interacting and goes through a very creative period. I'm waiting for more, I hope for the best. I surely don't appreciate their art just because it has mass appeal or due to the fact they are the champions of certain Records, I follow their music adventures and have been enjoying it so far, as I've learned to listen to what touches me. So the budget doesn't really hurt any feelings, here. I'd celebrate it the same....and I wish it goes really far!!!!!
